I have done a project in SIEMENS, Bangalore. The Title of the project is Auto Windowing. Aim of the project is to show a better view of tumor region in radio therapy images.
The treatment of cancer with ionizing radiation is called radiation therapy. Radiotherapy imaging uses X-rays in conjunction with computing algorithms to image the body. The major goal of radiotherapy images is to deliver the better visibility to view a tumor/markers region as accurate as possible.
Window Center and Window Width specify a linear conversion from stored pixel values to values to be displayed. These values are particularly important for X-ray/CT scanners as they tend to generate consistently calibrated intensities so we can use a specific Center: Width pair for every image. Finding out the window width and window center is called windowing technique. This project "Auto Windowing" will provide the best windowing technique to display the radiotherapy images. By implementing various available windowing techniques and come up with a suitable windowing values using which the radiotherapy images are better displayed and to automatically apply it to the radiotherapy image.
